The operating conditions of substation equipment affect the safe and stable operation of the power grid. Although some online monitoring tools have been used on the operating conditions of some of the important substation equipment, such as the main transformer insulating oil online monitoring system,the main transformer partial discharge on-line monitoring system, GIS partial discharge on-line monitoring system, and so on. But still there hasn't good comprehensive online monitoring and analysis methods and equipment for the ground current of the device currently, such as the transformer core ground current,the voltage transformer N600 little ground loop currents running ground current arrester, surge arresters and discharge current action case value and other data.These data is of great help for we to analyze the corresponding device operating conditions, but at present these data is measured and recorded by substation operators manually, unable to meet the online, real-time monitoring, management requirements on the device.Based on the actual situation of the project site equipment, combined with the current domestic and international research in the relevant fields, this paper proposes a method for developing a set of comprehensive online monitoring and analysis device for the substation equipment ground current, focusing on the important parts of substation equipment ground current(including the main transformer core ground current, the arrester leakage current, the voltage transformer N600 little ground loop current) measuring principle, measuring parameters required device, measuring devices and background communication between device analysis method. Communication method used wireless networking, with better material objects connected capacity. Meanwhile, the background analysis software feature set requirements for the design, it has more-limited automatic alarm functions, including audible and visual alarm and SMS notification, and is able to generate a variety of measurements curve daily, monthly and yearly reports. Finally, the equipment ground current comprehensive online monitoring and analysis system is installed and verified the feasibility and applicability in 500 kV Zengcheng substation and 220 kV Huapu substation in Guangzhou.
