With the more and more matures of fiber-reinforced composite materials technology, composite materials technology has been widely used in the field of civil aircraft. But, it has discovered that the damage mechanism between the composite and the metal are different with the deeper research of the mechanical properties. So the repair of the composite laminate cannot just follow the repair of the metal. So far the repair method widely used are adhesive bonding repair and mechanical connection repair, and there is little research to the adhesive-rivet hybrid repair. In this paper, it's aimed at studying the mechanical properties of the adhesive-rivet hybrid repair by comparison of different effect between the adhesive-rivet hybrid repair and the adhesive bonding repair. The main contents are as follow.1) To verify the validity of the model by comparison of the theoretical prediction and the experimental result. The finite element model of mechanical connection repair was built and calculated. In order to balance the time of calculation and the grid precision, the influence of the finite element model efficiency to the theoretical result was analyzed, and the most efficiency grid precision was selected.2) To study the behavior of the damaged 20-plies [0/45/90/-45/0]2s composite laminate repaired by the method of adhesive-rivet hybrid repair and adhesive bonding repair, two finite elements models of composite laminate with the 30 mm hole and 60 mm hole were built in the paper with the software ANSYS. The stress field of the damaged laminate, the adhesive and the pitch were obtained and analyzed. The stress information and the load of the rivets of adhesive-rivet hybrid repair was obtained and the relation of the position and rivet load was analyzed.3) The influence of the thickness of the adhesive and the thickness of the adhesive to the load distribution were studied. The result shows that the connection of the adhesive could be weakened with the increasing of the thickness of adhesive and that it could not get the better effect of repair with the thicker pitch.4) Under scarf pitch repair, the effect to the repaired structure by adhesive connection and adhesive-rivet connection of laminate and pitch was also investigated. The result shows that the shear stress of adhesive could be reduced by the method of adhesive-rivet hybrid repair.
