Luggage tractor is a very indispensable and active special vehicle which is used to pull cars equipped with baggage, cargo and mails to gate positions in modern military and civilian airports. Most domestic airport special vehicles use fuel as en ergy, so the study of electric vehicles has m ore important significance w ith global warm ing, air pollution, serious haze phenomenon, shortage of oil resources and other issues becoming more and more serious.Firstly, the developm ent background and the research status at hom e and ab road of electric vehicles are co mprehensively described. The analysis of th e luggage tractors development trend notices that th e study of el ectric special vehicles will have important significance. The development of frame design study a nd research methods of the fram e are detailed introduced.Secondly, the stress analysis of special ve hicle is carried out in the process of driving.Dynamic parameters of the electric baggage tractor are matched including driving motor types and parameters, passing system parameters and the battery param eters. The vehicle is designed to be driven by four motors to reduce the weight of the motor and to facilitate placement. The placement of the battery pack is optimized.Again, the virtual line shaft control princi ple is introduced. Mathem atical modeling of permanent magnet brushless DC motor is builded. The virtual line shaft control m ethod is applied to an f our-wheel drive electric special vehicle and the m odeling and simulation analysis are perform ed. The method can effectively solve the ro ad surface disturbance problems when the four-wheel drive vehicle is in the process of driving.Finally, the size and structure design and the materials sele ction of the luggage tractor frame are carried out based on a detailed analysis of the characteristics and types of the frame structure and the vehicle performance requirements. Three-dimensional model of the frame is builded applying Solidworks software. The vehicle s tatic stress analysis of static bending, road twisting and bumps, vehicle braking,c ornering and other conditions is carried out applying finite element software ANSYS Workbench. The dynamic modal analysis is carried out on the frame and various order vibration fr equencies are obtained. The fram e structure is optimized according to the analy sis results,so that the fram e can m eet the strength requirements.
