Currently, maintenance work is altering from the traditional hard time to reliability centered health management technology. The development of Chinese civil aviation maintenance compared with the growth rate of fleet and the amount of flight shows a large lag,maintenance work still stays in the traditional pattern of "mentoring". At the same time,because the experience can not be shared or stored, a lot of practical experience in maintenance disappears with experts retiring and a variety of other reasons. Moreover, since some data and maintenance information are stored by paper, makes the data and experience dispersed and non-sharable. In addition, because most of our airplane health management system import from abroad, makes us can not to grasp the first-hand data of aircrafts or engines, then we lose the initiative of maintenance work.According to the above situations and combined with the actual demands of airlines,taking database management of the engine fault cases as the core, the following researches on civil aviation engine health management were made.1. By analyzing the airplane health management system of Boeing, Airbus and the engine health management system of Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, General Electric, made the health management system modular. By analyzing the database module in detail on this topic, completed the design of the database module combined with the actual needs.2. By collecting the aeroengine fault cases of airlines and maintenance companies,described the fault cases uniformly and classify them by ATA chapters in preparation for the subsequent case retrieval.3. In order to achieve the sharing of data and information, the saving form of fault cases in the database, the case representation, the case classification and the storage structure of database were studied and analyzed. On this basis, to manage the cases by database became possible.4. By C# programming language and SQL Server 2008 database in Visual Studio 2010 development platform and ASP.NET development environment, the aeroengine fault cases database system was completed.The result of the program debugging and practical application showed that the fault case database system had a friendly interactive interface, operated stably and met the needs of case retrieval. This system improves the utilization of fault cases, accelerates the efficiency of case retrieval, makes maintenance work easily and has a great practical value.
