The urban metro system can effectively ease urban traffic congestion, and is the city traffic aorta. The vulnerability analysis of the metro network has important significance to the safety management of the metro. But there are many potential risk factors, which are difficult to be avoided completely. So the vulnerability of subway network has become a hot problem. The connection of metro network site and link is more and more strong, a fault may be beyond the boundaries of single site and link and spread between different sites and road, which caused the failure of the region. In fact, compared with the failure of nodes and edges, regional fault is more harmful. So evaluating vulnerability of metro networks need to consider the relevance between site and link, and should be extended to the vulnerability of the network area from the vulnerability of the network nodes and links. Because the regional vulnerability index is closely related with the regional division, the development of a reasonable regional division algorithm is very important for the evaluation of regional vulnerability. To deal with the above problem, Based on the topological properties of the subway network and the distribution of the traffic flow, this paper presents a method for evaluating vulnerability of the subway network by regional division. First, grey analytic hierarchy process is designed to evaluate the vulnerability of metro network station, link and area. Then, due to the regional vulnerability indexes is closely related to regional division, two methods of regional division is improved: site polymerization method and link elimination method. Finally, the evaluation method is verified by a real city subway system. and the effect of different methods on regional vulnerability assessment is analyzed.
