In order to study the relationship between California bearing ratio(CBR) and resilient modulus(E0) of the loess area in shanxi province, article tested 9 samples obtained from the loess area. The liquid-plastic limit testing, proportion testing and particle analysis testing showed that the grading of soil was badness and the soil was cohesive soil. Then the article selected three typical sections in shanxi(Shanping highway test sections, Guangyuan ighway test sections, Heyun highway test sections), and tested the CBR and E0. By analyzing the experimental data, the article obtain the relationship between E0, CBR, compaction degree(K) and the moisture content(w).Finally, through indoor test,we analyzed the influence of loess composition, moisture content, soaking time and forming method on CBR. The result showed that with the increase of compactness of the loess, the modulus of resilience, soaking CBR and not soaking CBR was increase. Under the condition of a certain moisture content, the modulus of resilience is reduce with the increase of water content; Under the condition of the compaction molding, drying CBR decreased with the increase of moisture content. After soaking CBR was reduced firstly and then rised with the increase of moisture content; In the static pressure molding experiments, soaking CBR was reduced firstly and then rised with the increase of water content.
