Controlled Flight into Terrain(CFIT) is one of the important factors causing the helicopter flight accident. Helicopter Terrain Alert Warning System(HTAWS) is important guarantee of the helicopter flight safety system, which can give warning information before the accident occurred.In this paper, built a helicopter flight dynamics model based on Simulink, and built HTAWS alerting algorithm model based on Stateflow. And combine them to a complete helicopter terrain alert warning simulation platform, which laid the foundation for the subsequent testing algorithms and research work. This paper mainly includes the following research contents:(1) A numerical simulation model of helicopter flight dynamics is established. The model considered the helicopter main aerodynamic components of modeling and aerodynamic interference. And discussed in detail and main rotor related airfoil aerodynamic model, induced velocity model and waving motion model modeling method. The principle of hierarchical and modular modeling based on the simulation model on the Simulink platform has been realized.(2) Finishing HTAWS algorithm of Honeywell and complete alarm algorithm model. Based on the manual and the relevant patent Honeywell HTAWS products MKXXII, according to input and output logic are specific algorithm, then according to the logical relationship between each algorithm module, the algorithm model was constructed using Stateflow States and the transition relation, which completed the envelope calculation module using the graph of a function, using truth table to realize the priority of each pattern choice relation.(3) Using Matlab to combine helicopter flight dynamics model with Honeywell alarm algorithm model and form a complete helicopter terrain alert warning simulation platform. A test example is constructed for several typical models. Based on the test examples, for the construction of helicopter flight dynamics model and Honeywell alarm algorithm of simulation test, the test results show that, the helicopter flight dynamics model control good response, Honeywell’s alarm algorithm works accurately, the platform can effectively simulate the helicopter CFIT accidents, and alarm that is constructed in this paper helicopter alarm algorithm testing platform is normal operation, which lays the foundation for the subsequent algorithm research and verification work.
