The expressway from Xuanen to Xianfeng segment(Hubei, Chongqing) and from Enshi to Qianjiang are connection lines for Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and Bao-Mao Expressway. This connection expressway is an important channel for southwestern of Hubei Province into Chongqing,Hunan province and Guizhou province. The evolution of regional geological structure, and the moderately weathered lithology make the geological conditions very complicated. In this valley geomorphology,due to the complex geological conditions, a lot of rocky slopes are unstable,most of which are induced by the bedding planes.Instability of the bedding planes will give the disaster to the highway construction. Although many conducted work on bedding slopes in rocky area,but this kind of slopes should be paid nor attention in both the failure mechanism and measurement technology.In the present work, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation were carried out in the bedding slopes in the highway of Enqian and Enlai, and the layered slope deformation mechanism were listed. In addition, the analysis of the effect of anti-slide piles was explored through the FLAC3 D simulations. The main work as follows:Firstly,the study the failure mechanism of bedding rock slopes was briefly introduced,especially including case studies in these two highways. Influence factor of slope stability is illustrated and analyzed according to the cases in the two highways. It was shown that the obliquity of rock and the mechanical property of weak intercalated have greatest influence on slope stability.Secondly,after a case study as Huangjiawan slope,the FLAC method was proposed to analyzed environmental factors including different geometric and physical parameters,the stability was also carried out by the strength reduction.It analyzed and verified the effect of these parameters on slope stability. It was shown that structural strength and surface inclination has a large effect on the stability coefficient, and the thickness of the bedding planes has less influence on safety factor, but the slope failure mode would be effected.Finally, anti-sliding piles were used in the prevention of slope failure.In this study, position of anti-sliding piles, depth of rock-socketed pile spacing, pile width and other factors were deeply discussed the affection of the stability.It is shown that the higher depth of anti-slide pile embedded rock the greater the safety factor if depth were at certain extent(less than 30% of pile length).When pile spacing and width ratio in the range of 3 to 4,the anti-sliding piles have optimal supporting effect.
