Study On Evaluation Of Protection Of Typical Historical And Cultural Blocks In Chongqing

Under the impact of the rapid development of current society and economy, the protection of historical and cultural heritage is becoming increasingly urgent. Historical and cultural blocks, the important cultural heritage of cities, which carry the culture and tradition of a certain historical period of cities, are the important carriers of cities to show their connotation and image. However, our country still exists inexperience in the protection of historical and cultural blocks, and protection evaluation, a necessary phase of protection of historical and cultural blocks, is difficult to break through the current methodology, which lead to the little effect in the protection of lots of historical and cultural blocks.The thesis studies the typical historical and cultural blocks of the urban districts in Chongqing. To solve and remedy the deficiencies of the protection of the current historical and cultural blocks, and to show human-oriented idea, the thesis makes a comprehensive evaluation of the built environment of historical and cultural blocks by introducing subjective evaluation method. Firstly, the thesis focuses on the background of the protection of historical and cultural blocks in China and those in Chongqing. Thus, it raises the topic and defines the purpose and significance of the study. Then, on this basis, the thesis collates and summarizes the relevant literatures about subjective evaluation methods and the protection evaluation of historical and cultural blocks and protection at home and abroad, which leads to the conclusion that the content study is lack of consideration of the relationship between human beings and the environment, and the subjective evaluation method is less involved in the research area of built environment of historical and cultural blocks; the existing comprehensive evaluation of historical blocks protection generally limited at a protective stage level. There are no scholars who treat the pre-protection evaluation,ongoing-protection evaluation and post-protection evaluation as a system to study. Next, it makes a detailed analysis on the necessity and applicability of the subjective evaluation of the historical and cultural blocks, and it is feasible in this field. Based on this, the thesis analyzes the principles of the subjective evaluation of historical and cultural blocks, and constructs the corresponding evaluation model. Finally, the thesis uses subjective evaluation method combined with three typical historic blocks of the urban districts in Chongqing to finish the three stages of evaluation which include pre-protection, ongoing-protection and post-protection.The main idea of the study is "to ask questions – to analyze the problems- to solve the problems". Based on problem, it first analyzes the feasibility of the method, and then targets to make a scientific and feasible analysis and evaluation of the overall environment of different types of historical blocks, and finally proposes strategies to solve the problems which based on the results of the final evaluation.This thesis includes three innovations. In terms of method, the thesis introduces the subjective evaluation method which combines qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis to improve the accuracy and scientificity of the research and remedy the deficiencies of the protection of the current historical and cultural blocks. In terms of content, It provides a new way to think about the protection of historical and cultural blocks of Chongqing and other cities which proposes to treat the pre-protection evaluation,ongoing-protection evaluation and post-protection evaluation of historical and cultural blocks as a system to evaluate,breaks the limitations of traditional evaluation approach for the single period to link the historical block in question and the elements in each period and lets the protection update block has always been in accordance with the main line to carry out.
