The traditional urbanization mode of development has made elements of rural cultural landscape, rural construction and farming life and other traditional elements continue to die out. Local residents' identity and sense of belonging are thus getting lost gradually. Although "Region" and " Agrestic" has been the words that are often being mentioned in the area of the design of architecture, people's understanding to them are still stay in the level of simple abstraction of regional history symbol and shallow copy of native nature. The stress of memorial in the design has lead designers to ignore the special and original nature of rural areas and also ignore the experience and feelings of the men-oriented architecture space during and after the growing process of the built of the architecture, which has resulted in the disconnection and deny of the rural land, rural life and rural space. This paper summarizes relevant theories and examples of agrestic architecture and regional architecture. Along with the introspection of present situation of the human settlement environment and rural residents' essential demands on the architectures during the process of traditional urbanization in rural areas, I refine the theory and important practical points about "In-situ Architecture” based on visiting investigation in Taiwan by myself and the mainland architects' practical exploration in the interior of China in recent years. "In-situ Architecture" is existed upon the land. It is not about to find a common expression of an area. It is about to make the architecture exist according to the specificity of this land-the specificity of the ground and life and producing activity on this ground. "In-situ" is a higher pursuit that pursues the anchorage with the current land. Architectures not only need to land on the environment, but also should be deep rooted on this land, blossom, bear fruit and make local residents initiate real identity and sense of belonging to the local cultures and materials. This paper intends to reintegrate the “web” of current land, buildings and human activities, inspiring the users to feel the local spirit and understand local culture during the long-term interaction with the space of architectures. Rural building in this sense will be regarded as conforms to the time, place and the demands of the residents. It is deep rooted here, blossom and bear fruits. And thus derive the strategic framework of rural in-situ designs under this logic. Finally, by the supplement and discussion of the strategy resulted from my previous in-situ practices, I try to make the strategy of in-situ to become a common route for rural practices. And design architectures full of humane and local emotions during under the call of newly urbanization.
