With the deterioration of the environment and the increasing exhaustion of fossil energy, the development of clean, renewable energy has become a hot issue around the world. The wind as a sustainable, clean, safe and clean energy, has been playing an important role in renewable energy. The world’s total wind power installed capacity has steadily increased, the country’s total wind power on gird capacity has exceeded one hundred million kilowatts. Due to the harsh operating conditions and high operating load characteristics of the wind farm, maintenance and spare parts management is inevitable. With the rapid development of wind power, more and more new equipment and new technologies were invited, spare parts management faces greater challenges.Based on the study of spare parts and inventory management in related industries, combined with the reality of the wind farm. Firstly, we discussed the necessary connection between the management of spare parts and maintenance, and introduced the research ideas of combining maintenance strategy with spare parts ordering policy. Aiming at the repairable component in wind farm, based on the periodic preventive maintenance strategy, the wind farm spare parts simulation model with continuous inspect(R,Q) inventory control policy was established, the influence of imperfect maintenance and random failure on the demand of spare parts was considered. The Event Scheduling Method in discrete event simulation was used to solve this model. The influence of different reorder point and order quantity on the spare parts cost and the service level was analyzed under a certain maintenance strategy. The best spare parts ordering policy under a few groups of different unit cost ratio was given and the result showed that the change of unit cost ratio has a great influence on the choice of the reorder point.In addition, in order to be more intuitive and clear while analyzing the condition of wind turbine and spare parts management in the wind farm in different ordering policies. A Matlab-GUI based wind farm maintenance and spare parts evaluation system has been built, and a few groups of running examples have been given to illustrate the usefulness of the system.
