Air compressor plays a more and more important role in national economy, but the study of air compressor in our country is still in a relatively backward status because of the complexity of the design and late starting of the research. With the strong development of the market, the demand of the air compressor is becoming greater. If we can’t acquire the core technology of the air compressor, share of domestic products in the market will become smaller and smaller. Domestic enterprises, therefore, will gradually be in a very awkward position.Screw rotor is the most crucial element of screw air compressor and the level of rotor profile determines whether the rotor quality is good or not, so the pros and cons of screw profile also determine the performance of the air compressor. However, the production of rotor profiles has many problems, such as complex design, troublesome calculating, and monopolized core technology.By consulting data and browsing the relative website, I mainly conducted the following researches. 1、I analyzed different air compressors, and selected twin screw compressor as the research object 2、Through comparing and analyzing various rotor profiles, I decided to put my emphasis on studying unilateral asymmetric-circular arc curve.3、I analyzed the equation of the unilateral asymmetric-circular arc curve and used the Matlab tools to draw lines and finally established the Rotor tooth surface equation. By analyzing the meshing conditions, I got the contact line equation and calculated the length of the line of contact.4、By analyzing the calculation methods of the triangle, calculating the area between tooth and tooth volume and analyzing the current situation of rotor machining, These researches can help to analyze the elements of rotor profiles. I believe they will have a significant meaning to the research work of the performance index of rotor profiles.In view of the production of Screw rotor is various and mostly in small batch, a new approach for forming cylinder helical surface with milling cutter is put forward. This approach can shorten the prepare time in production and at the same time save the cost and improve technical and economic benefits. This paper analyzes the reasons for the interferences of cylinder mill processing and works out the reasonable constraint conditions to solve the interference phenomenon presented during the milling process. I have compiled the main indexes of rotor grinding devices from home and abroad and put forward some optimization suggestions from the angle of man, machine, material and method. The effectiveness of my findings has been verified by applying to practical machining. What’s more, my findings have been implemented into production and prove to be a success.Finally, this paper presents prospects on the study of the domestic air compressors:To form products with independent property rights by digesting and absorbing foreign advanced rotor profiles is the key to development; To apply some new processing methods by importing advanced equipment is the key to processing.
