| Screw compressor has a lot of advantages, like simple structure, safe and convenientoperation. With the technology improvement, screw compressor has gradually replaceother types of compressors and be widely used in the field of refrigeration, mechanical,chemical, etc. A pair of intermeshed male and female rotors is the key part of screwcompressor. In addition to meet the requirement of engaging movement, rotor profile alsohas decisive influences on the efficiency, volume and manufacturing cost of screwcompressor. Therefore, in recent years, the research of rotor profile is highly valued bothdomestic and aboard, and the study of profile is becoming more and more important.The research object of this paper is5:6teeth arc and arc envelope profile. The studyincludes the calculation and simulation of profile, contact line, geometric structure,thermodynamic and force process based on MWorks. Moreover, rotor engaging animationis also produced on the post-processing platform of MWorks according to the calculationresults. The conclusions of the study reveal that the selected profile equation is not onlyavailable but also has a superior performance because of the small leakage on the side ofthe contact line.This is the first time simulating screw compressor profile on a new software namedMWorks. Besides, the process of the research also shows that it is feasible to simulate andcalculate screw compressor profile on MWorks. The integration of simulation, design,calculation and post-processing functions of MWorks greatly simplifies the study and thecalculation process. Meantime, the conclusions of the study can be seen as a foundation ofthe profile modification, screw compressor performance optimization in the future. |
