In recent years, with the improvement of the technology, the global civil aviation industry has been developed rapidly and the throughput of the civil aviation is also ever growing. However, a serious problem appeared at the same time. Environmental pollution, energy consumption and waste are against to the sustainable development of civil aviation and the whole world. To solve this problem, some European countries and the United States had proposed the concept of continuous descent approach and gradually began to implement this technology. The experimental results showed that compared with the traditional approach, the continuous descent approach has a significant advantage in energy saving and emission reduction.Continuous descent approach means that the aircraft keep in idle thrust and maintain a fix angle to implement the approach procedure rather than the step approach. This approach saves fuel by changing the original trajectory and reduces the noise and pollution by shortening the time in the terminal area.Based on the purpose above, this paper summarized and gives a basic model and algorithm of CDA by the research of the document concerned with the CDA. After the simulation of the model, we obtained different CDA trajectories under different situations. We add the parameter “time” into the model and get the 4D trajectory. Moreover, we use the matlab to design a GUI interface. With this GUI interface, we can easily get the CDA trajectory by inputting some parameters. After designing the CDA model, we also design an evaluation algorithm of the CDA. This evaluation algorithm is a round-robin algorithm that based on the conflict detection and it used delay time as its target. It can apply to any CDA procedure. Finally, we add the point merge system into the CDA procedure. Not only we solve the arrival sequence, but also makes the terminal efficiency up to a higher level.
