Aircraft system has become more and more complex, which brings the fault analysis more difficulties. So we should find a correct and feasible method. On the other hand, the area of fuel system analysis is not enough: some articles are simple and fuzzy, some are lack of the comparison of the methods and some do not have the exact cause analysis. In this condition, this article will study the fault analysis methods of aircraft fuel system, compare these methods and analyse their advantages and disadvantages. The main contents of this article are as follows:1. Divide the fuel system into several sub system, and introduce main component and function respectively. Be familiar with common components and principle of fuel system.Introduce the typical faults of aircraft fuel system, give some speculation of them.2. Introduce several methods commonly used in detail. Analyse the theoretical basis, the step of using, scope of application, advantages and disadvantages of the analysis results and the requirements for personnel.3. Choose five typical fault cases. Use two fault analysis methods for each case. Do the comparison of the analysis process and their results, give the evaluation of each method, finds the scope and requirement of application.4. We can conclude: FTA can get the exact reasons of fault, have a logical process. ETA is fuzzy; FTA requires the user to be very familiar with the system, and it has a great work, some reasons could be repetition. ETA is very simple and could be used easily; ETA can find a correct and safe route. It is useful for eliminate hidden dangers. It can provider a guidance for the real repair and maintenance.
