Precision transmission is a kind of mechanical transmission mainly focusing on transmitting movement in high precision, which is widely used in industrial robots, CNC machine tools, medical instruments, aerospace and national defense equipments. Cycloid planetary transmission has been a research hotspot in the field of precision transmission for its prominent properties, such as more meshing teeth numbers, outstanding error average effect and high torsion stiffness etc. The research on design of tooth profile of cycloid gear with high precision and its processing quality control has important theoretic significance and practical value for realizing large-scale production of cycloid precision reducer. Major contents of the dissertation are as follows:(1) A kind of high precision cycloid gear with given meshing backlash is proposed. The acquisition method for the tooth profile of cycloid gear is described in detail and the equation of tooth profile is also derived. Cycloid tooth profile design software is developed and numerical simulation is calculated.(2) A kind of high precision cycloid meshing pair is proposed, which consists of cycloid gear with given meshing backlash, double arc pin slot and pin. In order to analyze the influence of design parameters on the tooth profile and backlash, the backlash of the high precision cycloid meshing pair is defined. Then a mathematical model of cycloid meshing pair transmission error is established, and the numerical simulation for this model is calculated.(3) The process quality of high precision cycloid gear is analyzed by using the method of process capability determination and identification. The influence of man factor, machine factor, material factor, method factor, environment factor and measurement factor on the machining quality of the high precision cycloid gear is analyzed, and some prevention measures are proposed.(4) The process route, heat treatment process and cycloid tooth profile rough and finish machining methods of high precision cycloid gear are determined. Two types of high precision cycloid gear are trial-manufactured and inspected the machining quality.(5) The prototype of cycloid envelope transmission device with high precision cycloid gear is manufactured and the test of transmission accuracy and transmission efficiency of the prototype is performed.
