As used widely and large quantity of lithium batteries and the devices that powered by lithium batteries in air transportation, the number of accidents of lithium batteries in air transportation is increasing. The data that statistics of the FAA demonstrates that there are more than ninety percent of the air transportation accidents belong to fire accidents. Fire accidents of lithium batteries in air transportation will not only endanger the people's safety and property but also threats the national security and property, therefore, the research on the fire accidents of lithium batteries in air transportation is necessary.Fire risk analysis on lithium batteries in air transportation can figure the effect of the risk factors that influence the accident. The result of the analysis provides the reference and basis for the establishment of control measures of fire as well as benefits the research in the future of lithium batteries in air transportation.This research focuses on analyzing the fire accidents of lithium batteries in air transportation. It is based on fault tree analysis and tri-fuzzy number theory. The result of the research can solve lots of uncertain problems that causing the fire accidents of lithium batteries during the air transportation. This theory is divided into four parts:(1)Researching the cases of the air transportation especially on the smoldering and fire accidents. This is the realistic basis of the topic.( 2) According to the result of the researching finds the potential factors that causing the fire accidents of the lithium batteries in the air transportation in the lithium battery itself and the process of the air transportation.(3)The theory introduces the purpose, content and the process of risk analysis, selecting an appropriate method as the theoretical basis.(4) In the end, it establishes a fault tree on fire accidents of lithium batteries in air transportation. Using the tree conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis. According to the results of the analysis we can put forward measures to avoid the accidents.
