Light diffusers are widely used in LCD, image display system, LED lighting and other fields, Its main function is to make the incident light reflect and achieve a more uniform and softer lighting effect. Light transmittance and haze are the two main performance parameters of the light diffuser, an inverse relationship between the two. Good light transmission diffuser can effectively use light energy, but lower haze will impact on uniformity and softness of exit light. In contrast, a high haze diffuser can effectively inhibit glare, however, the utilization of the light source is low, it will cause energy waste, so for different application areas in order to achieve the effect of their application, the light diffuser select is different.This paper studies the new diffuser for LED lighting, mainly related to side LED panel light and double-end projection type LED lamp, both lamps broke the conventional structure of LED lamps in the market, having novel structure, light quality and low production cost features. The diffuser is an important structure of such fixtures, playing the role of directional transmission and fog light, and has a high transmittance.According to the law of Fresnel reflection, the reflectivity has a great relationship of the angle of incidence, we design the diffuser used in side LED panel light and projection-type LED lamp by studying the relationship between them, the lower surface section of this diffuser is not isosceles microstructure arrays, this design approach allows fixtures with higher energy efficiency. New diffuser made by PMMA, PC and other single material, due to the absence of doping particles, the light transmission loss is small. We refer design ideas of doped diffusion plate that make concave microlens structure in the exit surface to design soft effect. Theoretical analysis shows that the angle of the isosceles triangle microstructure has a geometrical relationship with the glancing angle of incident light, using geometrical optics and the law of Fresnel reflection can get the best angle of the isosceles triangle microstructure, under the best angle, utilization of the incident light reach the maximum. Solidworks and Tracepro softwares were used to model and simulate diffuser, diffuser optimized makes the light transmission efficiency achieve more than 90% and high illumination uniformity. Made the optimized diffuser into a physical model which were measured by the experimental apparatus to obtain results consistent with the theoretical analysis.
