Since China's reform and opening up, energy demand is increasing as China's sustainable and reasonably rapid economic development. Energy problem has already been one of the bottlenecks of which constrain sustainable development of China's economy and society. From the point of energy management, it has a significant effect on energy conservation and consumption reduction of enterprises through the establishment and implementation of effective energy management. Ceramic industry as a high energy consumption industry, whose energy saving has become a very urgent task. Through the implementation of effective energy management in ceramic industry, it provides more systematic, comprehensive and scientific theory for energy conservation and consumption reduction.The major object of this paper is energy management in ceramic industry. The main line is the applying of the theory of the synergy among material flow, energy flow and information flow into traditional energy management. After studying the material flow sub-system, energy flow sub-system and information flow sub-system, it evaluated and forecasted the development trend and existing problems of such enterprise. Then, the synergistic optimization mechanism of energy management in ceramic industry based on traditional energy management and M-E-I synergy theory among three flows was built and the dominant role of information flow in enterprise's evolving process was highlighted.This paper combined the synergy theory among material flow, energy flow and information flow with traditional energy management model and applied the new model of energy management into the ceramic industry, which provided a new idea for energy management and energy conservation and consumption reduction in ceramic industry. Also, it has enriched the content of traditional energy management and has provided a new idea and method for application of energy management.
