The sounding rocket is an important technique of space science exploration. Because of the strong need for space environment exploration, more research should be performed and planned.In this study, based on statistical investigation, 0~1500km was set to be the exploration goal. The series and modularization of the sounding rocket are necessary. Power engine was defined as the function modules and systematic construction and design was proposed. Three types and five rockets were introduced. The basic theory was analyzed and the independence of the theory was studied. Mathematical models were built and inferences were given, based on which systematic and modular design general processes were demonstrated. Then the structure of the spectrum engine was investigated so that the coupling model was obtained. This facilitates the acquisition of the engine specification. Finally, the establishment of a sounding rocket trajectory, aerodynamic calculation model was defined. For rocket-I, the aerodynamic shape and engine were optimized and the feasibility was validated. For 2-stage rocket and 3-stage rocket, aerodynamic optimization was performed. Dimensionless model was acquired and processed on 3-stage rocket and 4-stage rocket for the aerodynamic design. Eventually the systematic rocket spectrum, including the trajectory graph and aerodynamic properties diagram, consists of five types with 1-stage, 2-stage, 3-stage and 4-stage, which can cover 0~1500km height task. The spectrum is capable of wide extent, high modularization and low expense.This paper established the method and process to efficiently design and optimize overall planning and parameters in conception design for rocket, providing references to overall planning in a preliminary stage.
