Because of its performance of simple structure, small volume, light weight, small moment of inertial, high efficiency and high power factor, the permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM) has become the main motor in the field of electric drive. As the device for controlling the motor, the motor controller is the brain of the electric drive system. This subject comes from the actual project. The main contents of this paper include hardware design?software design and research on algorithm for vector control.As the main factor affecting the performance of the motor controller, the performance of the controller can be improved by the research and improvement of the control algorithm. The performance of the traditional motor vector control depends on the accuracy of the motor parameters. Because of the complex and changeable working environment, the parameter of the motor for vehicle change with the working environment. And that will influence the performance of the control system. The mathematical model of PMSM in the two-phase coordinate system has been derived according to the model in the three-phase coordinate system, and the working principle of the servo system based on the traditional vector control strategy is discussed. To reduce the influence on the performance of the control system caused by the variation of motor parameters, the mathematical model of PMSM based on stator flux is derived and the vector control strategy of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on the stator flux estimation is proposed. To reduce the stator flux observation error caused by the zero drift of the current measurement and improve the observation accuracy of the stator flux, the existing flux observation methods are introduced and compared. And a new stator flux observer based on Double Low-pass Filters is adopted in this paper to estimate the stator flux. And for this new stator flux observer is used in the permanent magnet synchronous motor, the effect on the stator flux observer by the rotor flux is considered. To prove the feasibility of the proposed algorithm by simulation, The PMSM vector control strategy simulation model is established by MATLAB/Simulink toolbox.To adapt to the complex working environment of the vehicles and ensure safety and reliability, the Infineon 32 bit automotive MCU TC1782 is chosen as the main control chip of the controller in this paper. Compared with the industrial grade chip, the capacity of resisting disturbance is stronger and the working temperature is wider. The hardware design mainly includes the design of the minimum system based on TC1782 and the peripheral function circuit. And the software TASKING is chosen as the embedded systems development platform. After completing the hardware and software debugging of the controller, the related experiments are carried out by using the designed controller. And the experiment results show that the system can achieve the desired design goals and the significant changes of the working conditions such as temperature have little influence on the performance of the controller. So the controller can be used in the practical engineering.
