| With the improvement of living standard, more and more people pay attention to the indoor air quality. Kitchen in addition to the pollution caused by the decoration, but also because cooking oil fumes, is the worst indoor air quality room of the several functional rooms in the house. The main purpose of this paper is to understand the current situation of the air quality of the residential kitchen in C hongq ing C ity, to find out the existing problems, and to find out the way to improve through the experiment. The main work of this paper is the following work.In Chongqing C ity, a total of more than 1600 questionnaires were distributed, 1390 valid questionnaires were obtained. After statistical analysis of the questionnaire, I draw the following conclusions: 73% of the people are not satisfied with the purification effect of the hood; 78.5% of the kitchen exist fume intrusion and odor phenomenon; nearly half of the kitchen has a peculiar smell; more than 80% of the residents in less than half a year after the completion of the time moved into the new house, which is less than 3 months to move up to 47.1%.The essential problem of the existing problems in the residential kitchen in Chongqing city is oil fume emission and ventilation.We selected 50 residential for home test in C hongqing city, all residential were lived for more than half a year. Test results show that: there are no chemical pollution problems, only a sample of the kitchen benzene exceeded, all the chemical pollutants o f the living room and bedroom are all up to the standards; there are serious shortage of natural lighting in winter of Chongqing, the unqualified ratio of the kitchen is 100%, the unqualified ratio of the bed room is 95%, the unqualified ratio of the living room is 97.5%; the unqualified ratio of the noise in the kitchen is up to 67.5%, O ver the living room and the bedroom. Using the composite index method to evaluate the air quality in the kitchen, results show that the air quality of the kitchen is the wo rst, the bedroom is the second, the living room is the best; PM2.5 pollution of the kitchen is serious. By using single factor analysis of variance analysis, the correlation analysis was carried out and the results were obtained: Benzene concentration in k itchen show significant differences in the use of air cleaner; the TVOC concentration in kitchen show significant differences in the use of cleaning agents; the formaldehyde content in kitchen show significant differences in the use of cleaning agents; the PM2.5 concentration in kitchen show significant differences to the distance between buildings and roads; cooking activities will cause a temporary increase in the PM2.5 concentration in the kitchen, but not significant.Through the sample questionnaire a nd the household survey we can see, Ineffective smoke and ventilation are the major problem of the kitchen in C hongqing. The experiment was designed according to the usage of the hood, the switch of the kitchen door and window. Comparison of PM2.5 and CO2 concentration under different conditions derived that closed the kitchen door, opened the kitchen window, ahead of schedule to open delayed closure of the hood is the optimal condition when cooking, which can avoid influence of the living room.kitchen pollutants can be quickly discharged to the outside.
