| Aircraft noise pollution is one of the major environmental problem that the civil aviation airport now facing, it may cause severe damages to hearing and nervous systems of the residents who live around the airports, and the noise impact assessment is also considered as one of the most important factors that affect the airport construction and its peripheral land use planning. This thesis tries to design an airport noise monitoring system that is low-cost and technically feasible, using ZigBee network and Internet for noise level data transmission.Airport noise are measured by sound level meter(SLM), SLM will provide the noise level data that is used to verify the feasibility of the data transmission and analysis subsystem.Limited by time and research funds, this thesis choose to design a MATLAB simulation of SLM rather than design a solid one. In this simulation, we can also do noise measurement through PC’s sound card and microphone then transmit the noise level data via a wireless transmitter module connected to the PC.Noise level data transmission system is designed based on ZigBee network and Internet.ZigBee is especially suitable here due to its technical characteristics, like large network capacity, low-power, multi-hop, self-forming and self-healing. ZigBee network is used to take on-site noise level data acquisition, while the Internet is used to transmit the data to remote client. Web server software named Boa is embedded into the ZigBee-Internet gateway, so people can monitor airport noise condition in real-time via a normal web browser.We also designed a simple web interface for the airport noise monitoring system using HTML in order to convenient the client users, in the end, we will show how to draw a noise contour map based on the data collected using Surfer software. |
