Study On The Plant Furnishing Of Road Greenland In Dong Guan

With increasing the number of urban population and motor vehicles, the city has become increasingly severe environmental pollution. Meanwhile, the urban road greening has become more and more important in improving the urban environment. The meaning of road greening is not only the beautification function and improvement urban environment, but also reflects the spirit feature of a city. Thus, scientific and rational way to create a landscape of plants can not only build a good image of the city, but also provide a beautiful and friendly environment for the urban residents. Dongguan is one of a historical and cultural city in Guangdong province, and it's a national garden city too. After many years of green building, Dongguan has formed a number of distinctive green avenue, such as Dongguan Road, Song shan Lake Avenue. However, there are also still many road greening construction deficiencies, especially about the road greening design, plant configuration management and ecological effects, it also lack of science and technology and innovation.In this paper, the different types of urban roads and streets greening of Dongguan were investigated. The representative roads were also evaluated and analysed in specifically.Some suggestions of improvements on road and street greening were put forward. The main results showed as follows:1. According to the results of survey, there are 145 species of plant in urban roads,belonging to 55 families and 114 genera respectively. In which macrophanerophytes are belonged to 23 families, 53 genera,76 species, arbuscle are belonged to 28 families, 34 genera, 52 species and 16 families, 24 genera and 26 herbs species. The higher frequency of the application plants families were Palmae, Myrtaceae, Moraceae, Apocynaceae,Euphorbiaceae, Malvaceae,Araliaceae. While the three of the families Palmae, Myrtaceae,Moraceae have 37 species of plants in total, which made up 25 percent of the whole used plants. In the layer of rmacrophanerophytes, the higher frequency of trees are Ficus microcarpa, Elaeocarpus apiculatus, Albizia falcataria, Gossampinus malabarica,Lagerstroemia speciosa, Kahaya seegalesis. The higher frequency of shrub species are Ficus microcarpa cv.Golden Leaves, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis var. variegata, Schefflera octophylla, Ixora chinensis, Rhododendron simsii, Duranta repens ‘Variegata',Loropetalum chinense var.rubrum, Fagraea ceilanica, Carmona microphylla. While the higher frequency about herbaceous plants are Wedelia trilobata, Hymenocallis littoralis,Altemanthera Ficoidea cv. "Ruliginosa", Alocasia macrorrhiza and so on.2. Based on investigation and analysis of the different road Greenbelt. In the avenue greenbelt most of those trees were planted in a pool, and it's planting mode usually was arbor + grass. In the central division green belt and green traffic island, mostly of those planting mode was small arbor + Manicured shrubs; while the planting modes were very rich in heavy traffic roads, such as Ring Road, Dongguan Avenue, which including arbor +shrub + herb or arbor + shrub and so on.3. Evergreen trees were dominated in the arbor layer of Dongguan City Road Greening.Where there were also many species of flower plants, there were four kinds of colors about those flowers, they are red, white, yellow and violet, but the red is most. In the shrub layer, there were a lot of colored leaf plants, most of which are complex color leaf plant species, accounting for 54.5% of such plants, and the higher the frequency of application were reddish plants. However, there were a few of ornamental fruit plant species, and lacking of obvious seasonal changes.4. Dongguan is a typical southern city, the plant landscape has shown a subtropical plant landscape style and geographical features regional characteristics. But which have also some problems, so we should Innovate the road greening concept, and improve the level of plant configuration, thereby improving the level of urban greening roads of Dongguan.
