The reasons that affect the transmission efficiency of the torque converter,developingthe understanding of the characteristics of the flow field and providing the basis for the next round of improvement design,need to be found.So the object of improving the performance of the torque converter can be realized.Based on the existing hydraulic torque converter,the three-dimensional transient numerical simulation analysis and calculation of internal flow field of the YJH265 hydraulic torque converter are carried out with the help of UG,FLUENT and other software.The result of this calculation is compared with that of the original test of hydraulic torque converter and some characteristics of the transient distribution of the internal flow field of each working wheel are summarized.The main content of this paper is:1.The working process,working principle,research status of the flow field,the shortcomings of the flow field research and so on are introduced in detail.On this basis,the content and significance of this paper are put forward.2.This paper introduces the research object YJH265 type torque converter related content,including work processes,geometric parameters and so on.Using the known geometric parameters of YJH265 hydraulic torque converter,the circulating flow is calculated by the energy balance equation and the calculation is done with Mathcad software.The velocity and torque of the fluid flow at the inlet and outlet of the working wheel under different working conditions are solved by using the calculation result of the circulating flow rate in YJH265 torque converter.3.According to YJH265 hydraulic torque converter flow field characteristics,this paper selects the appropriate flow field model and the solution method.Numerical simulation software was used to simulate the whole flow path model and single runner model of YJH265 hydraulic torque converter in the three working conditions of starting condition(i=0),medium speed condition(i=0.4)and high efficiency condition(i=0.8).4.The analysis of the pressure field and velocity field of numerical simulation results of the three-dimensional transient flow field of the work-wheel is the core part of this paper under the three working conditions of YJH265 hydraulic torque converter.Through the same method,the flow field in YJH265 hydraulic torque converter was simulated under other operating conditions,and the parameters obtained by numerical simulation are fitted to the original characteristic curve,which will lay the foundation for the comparison of the original characteristic curves obtained from the experiment.5.The original characteristic test of YJH265 hydraulic torque converter is completed,and the experimental data and the numerical simulation results are compared and analyzed.6.Summary and Prospect.In this paper,the three-dimensional viscous,incompressible and transient flow fields of YJH265 torque converter are numerically simulated by three-dimensional flow theory,which can effectively enhance the understanding of the characteristics of the flow field in order to solve the technical problems in the actual production and provide reference for product design and optimization modification.
