| In the early period of the Ming Dynasty, the regional situation in the coastal areas of Fujian was extremely unstable. Ming court set up a large number of institutions such as coastal forts, kiosk and inspection department in coastal area of Fujian. The united defense system with hierarchy and depth was constituted with the maritime five kiosk as the hinge, the coastal fort as the core, and the coastal inspection department as the subordinate. The research focuses on the discussion and comparison between the Fujian coastal fort system and settlement regulation in the early Ming dynasty. From the perspective of history and architecture, the research uses GIS technology and space syntax theory as the quantitative method to discuss the rule of Spatial and temporal distribution of settlement, the influence factor of the coastal fort location, the Morphological quantitative analysis and so on.Start with the discussion on the space hierarchical structures which include the evolution of the coastal defense and maritime defense of Fujian coastal defense system in the early Ming dynasty. Based on the development of local history, the research describes the evolution of the thought of coastal defense of Ming Fujian, which leads to the transition of coastal defense system. The research probes into the features of the construction hierarchy and the spatial distribution. Besides, through analysis of spatial pattern of coastal defense system from the point view of planning and layout, the features such as Vertical and horizontal layered network structure and the joint system linked with kiosk are concluded. On the basis of clarifying the level of construction, the quantitative analysis on the location of the terrain features, the Morphological regulation, space accessibility and defense reliability is done to sum up the defensive characteristics. Conclusively, in the case of the Fuquan garrison, two paths to the development of garrison are suggested to propose the corresponding preservation measures to maintain the authenticity and integrity of the Fujian coastal fort settlement. |
