The Research On The Design And Expression Of Windows In Huizhou Ancient Dwellings

Huizhou ancient dwellings possess an extremely important historical and cultural value,and occupy an important position in traditional regional architecture.Window is one of the most important elemeents in the Huizhou ancient dwellings.Its diversified construction function and rich cultural connotation possess important value in research and inheritance.The development of windows in Huizhou ancient dwellings took the geographical environment and historical culture as the background,and took the development and prosperity of Huizhou merchants and the exquisite techniques of the craftsmen as a support,which made Huizhou ancient dwellings start to bloom and form distinguished features of their own.This article took windows of the existing Huizhou ancient dwellings during the Ming and Qing dynasties as the main research objects,and took the local chronicles in Huizhou area and relevant literature as the theoretical basis,and then made systematic classification,comparison and comprehensive analysis of the windows culture through the on-the-spot investigation of windows of five ancient village dwellings distributed in Yixian,Shexian,Wuyuan and Huizhou district.Case analysis and data statistics analysis methods were adopted in this paper.Function design and expression,technology design and expression,artistic design and expression of the seven main types of windows in Huizhou ancient dwellings were studied,including Geshan Window,Hujing window,Zhizhai window,Hengpi window,Lou window,Kong window and Jia window.Finally,the characteriastics of the function design and expression in the aspect of opening form,scale,open window layout mode and position,the characteriastics of the technology design and expression in the aspect of materials,construction process and the basic components,the characteriastics of the artistic design and expression in the aspect of type of patterns,art and visual perception,space atmosphere and framing art and traditional culture,were systematicly summerised.
