The water jet propulsion device is a means for advancing the underwater glider or other submersible by the reaction force generated by the pump.This micro-head,low-power water jet propulsion pump device can produce a certain thrust,and can be used for surface rescue,surface measurement and other purposes in the future.The miniature water jet propulsion pump acts as the main power part of the propulsion device,and its hydraulic performance directly affects the propulsion efficiency of the device.Impeller has a great influence on the hydraulic performance of the pump,while the airfoil is the basic element of the impeller,and its shape change has an important effect on the pump.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impeller airfoil of the water jet propulsion pump to improve its hydraulic performance.In the current experimental study of the water jet propulsion pump,there are few research on the micro-head pump at home and abroad.So carrying out the research on the measuring device and method about the micro-head water jet propulsion pump is significant for both academic research and engineering application.In this paper,a miniature water jet propulsion pump with the typical 791 airfoil is designed,aiming at the impact of impeller airfoil changes on the hydraulic performance,and how to innovate the test method to improve the micrometer pump head measurement accuracy.And theoretical analysis,numerical calculation and experimental verification are combined to analyze and study the pump of different impeller as well.In this paper,the impeller and guide vane are designed by the streamline method,and the modeling and meshing work are accomplished at first.Then the author verifies the hydraulic performance of the designed miniature water jet propulsion pump by numerical simulation and transform the impeller airfoil to analyze and compare the hydraulic performance of the impeller and the flow characteristics of the pump.The following conclusions are obtained: The head of the impeller is higher than that of the prototype impeller and the distribution of the turbulent kinetic energy on the blade surface is optimized and the pressure and velocity distribution is optimized;When the flow rate is large,the efficiency of the impeller with sturgeon airfoil is higher than that of the prototype impeller;The inlet pressure fluctuation of the impeller is slightly larger than that of the prototype impeller,and the outlet pressure fluctuation is smaller than that of the prototype impeller.In this paper,the experimental study on the miniature water jet propulsion pump with different impellers is carried out,and The following conclusions are obtained: The pump head,efficiency and power are increased with the increase of speed;In the design speed,the head of snakehead airfoil impeller and the efficiency of sturgeon airfoil is the highest;The experimental value is lower than the calculated value,and the error of the calculated value and the experimental value of the head and efficiency of impeller with different airfoils are within 5%,which not only validates the accuracy of numerical simulation,but also proves that the experimental device and method can accurately measure the head of the miniature water jet propulsion pump.Innovative design of the test device and methods have been declared related patents.
