The hydraulic retarder in commercial vehicles are widely applied,is one of the key core components of commercial vehicle.The traditional hydraulic retarder has complex structure,large volume,complex processing technology and high cost to solve the problem a new backlash hydraulic retarder was designed.Based on CFD and Fluent,the internal flow field of the new hydraulic retarder is modeled and simulated and design test validation.The hydraulic retarder has a compact structure,small size and light weight greatly improving its braking performance and effectiveness,reducing manufacturing costs,improving product processing technology.This paper mainly focuses on the new type of hydraulic retarder,which forward design and simulation test bench,can be divided into the following aspects:(1)a large number of reference documents of the commercial vehicle brake,especially for commercial vehicles there may be defects in the traditional mechanical braking on downhill condition,therefore commercial vehicles need auxiliary brake mode.Comparative analysis of several types of commercial vehicle auxiliary braking mode,hydraulic retarder braking mode to meet the conditions.(2)a comprehensive comparative analysis of hydraulic machinery in general,analysis of the braking principle of common hydraulic retarder.From the hydraulic coupler and the torque converter is inspired,the characteristics of low efficiency of vortex pump,reverse low efficiency characteristics are used to design the hydraulic retarder using vortex pump,slow braking of vehicle.This paper is design of drawings and model of the new hydraulic retarder.(3)using ProE software to design the hydraulic retarder internal forward runner model extraction,and channel partition,ICEMCFD software mesh analysis of internal flow field simulation into Fluent software,research and verification of the design of internal flow field of hydraulic slow forward speed and slow speed brake principle.(4)build a bench test,braking performance verification retarder,modeling and simulation results,the optimization of the subsequent follow-up forward design of hydraulic retarder to provide further reference.
