When the car disc brake is working,it is easy to produce a noise that makes people uncomfortable. We call this kind of noise for the brake squeal. On the one hand, the brake squeal not only affect the driver to operate the car,but also causeconsiderable noise pollution to the outside environment. On the other hand, the existence of the brake squeal is also a kind of destruction of the overall quality of the car. However, the mechanism of the occurrence of the brake squeal is very complicated, and there is no uniform conclusion.so the suppression of the brake noise is the key and difficult problem to be solved urgently for the whole vehicle factory and the spare parts manufacturer. From the experimental and numerical simulation of two aspects, this paper studies the brake noise and its suppression of the automobile disc brake. On the experimental side, the use of a car research center to build the disc brake test rig(LINK 3900 brake test rig),in strict accordance with the American Association of motor vehicle engineers certified J2521 SAE,J2522 SAE brake test standards, the simulation test of a certain type of car disc brake in a number of cases, the brake noise.A large amount of data is obtained in the experiment. On the one hand, based on the existing theories, the mechanism of the brake system of the disc brake is discussed. On the other hand, the mathematical relationship between the noise frequency and the friction coefficient, the environment temperature, the brake speed and the driving torque is obtained.Numerical simulation, based on the WorkBench ANSYS commercial CAE software, the finite element modal analysis of the high degree of simulation is carried out for the type of disc brake assembly, parts, and parts. Finally, based on the test and Simulation of the possible factors that may affect the brake noise, and gives some measures to improve the design of the disc brake,in order to achieve the purpose of reducing vibration and noise. These measures specifically include, the brake parts of the material to optimize and improve the structure of the brake parts of the structure to optimize the improvement,in particular,to eliminate the brake disc, brake lining and brake clamp,etc..The simulation results of WorkBench ANSYS show that the effect of vibration and noise reduction is obvious for some typical brake models.
