The airborne antenna is one of most important equipments that can ensure the safety working of aircraft.When the plane is in electromagnetic pulse,airborne antenna can get more coupling energy.Then when coupling energy inject into electronic equipment,it threaten the safety working of aircraft.Study of Electromagnetic Pulse Protection for Airborne Antenna is great significance for ensuring the safety working of aircraft.This paper firstly analyzes characteristics of four kinds of typical electromagnetic pulse.Then,in this paper,the ultra-shortwave antenna under the nuclear electromagnetic pulse radiation generated by high-altitude nuclear explosion is simulated,and the response characteristics of the electromagnetic pulse for the pedestal of ultra-shortwave antenna connection of different skin size are studied.The results of simulation indicate: the pedestal of the ultra-shortwave antenna connection of different skin size will lead to changes in its coupling voltage,instantaneous power,deposition energy and other changes,but when the skin size is equal or greater than 100cm*100cm,the different skin size will not lead to changes.And then the accuracy of the above simulation results is verified by the experiment.Then the characteristics of various types of surge protective devices are analyzed,and surge protective circuit is designed on the basis of the response characteristics of the electromagnetic pulse.According to antenna working band,filter circuit is selected.Protection circuit is designed by urge protective circuit and filter circuit,and it is concluded that simulation is carried out: its performance achieves the design requirements.Protecting effect of protection circuit is proved by experimental study,and protection circuit can lower effectively coupling voltage,instantaneous power and deposition energy for airborne antenna.Finally,experimental study for the influence factors of protecting effect is carried out,and the results indicate: the protection circuit against electromagnetic pulse has better effect,when the protection circuit is shielded and connected with terminal of feeder line.
