With the rapid development of automotive industry and electronic technology, the application of electronic products in the automotive industry is more and more popular. In order to meet the requirement of consumers and the government demand for safety, comfortable, energy saving, environmental protection and other aspects, vehicle sensor &actuator, control unit and vehicle information and entertainment equipment is widely applied to automobile design.Increasing number and variety of vehicle electronic products lead to the increase of the network of the vehicle body. Central gateway play important role in network management. Central gateway is the real time system to guarantee the information exchange between different sub-networks.In order to meet the communication requirements above, The Gateway is designed based on CAN bus. The key characteristics of the gateway and CAN bus is achieving the real-time communication between different sub-network. The central gateway connects the power CAN, safety CAN, information CAN, instrument CAN, comfortable-CAN and diagnosis CAN network and a LIN network. It not only meets the isolation of communication in the sub-network, but also realizes the data exchange between the sub-networks. It is used as high efficiency standardization and real-time network management.The thesis introduces the principle of CAN/LIN bus in detail, including the characteristics of the bus, message format and communication protocol based on CAN2.0 and LIN2.0 specifications. This research also involve the detailed circuit, including the Freescale 16 bit microcontroller, power supply module, CAN LIN transceiver, the port ESD protection circuit. All the function has a deeply description. Based on the hardware platform of the high-speed CAN gateway, the device driver software is developed, and the implementation process of the CAN message and CAN/LIN message conversion is described in detail. The application layer protocol of each node communication is established. And based the TOS program structure the body gateway system software architecture is reconstructed. In the end, the hardware, software design and integration testing are completed. The project has been successfully applied to a on production car.
