Research On The Quality Management Of Engineering Project Based On The Reasons And Effects Of Rework

Since the 12 th Five-Year plan,the status of the construction industry in the national economy has been increasing year by year.According to the China statistical yearbook,the construction industry has received widespread attention from 2002 to 2014,the proportion of the added value of the construction sector accounted for GDP is stable at around 6%,and it is increasing.In the actual construction project,the cost of rework of the project is often ignored by the project managers,which caused huge invisible losses to the operation of the project.Therefore,it is important to research the reason and influence of rework.Many professionals and scholars have made a lot of achievements on the subject of project rework.However,there is not a lot papers to systematically explain the reason and influence of engineering rework,so it is very important to improve and analyze the causes and effects of rework.This paper will use literature review,questionnaire survey,case analysis to analyze the causes and impact of project rework.It has three aims:(1)summarized the reasons and influences of project rework through literature review,(2)according to the survey results,identify the main reasons,responsible party,influence and its impact on the project.(3)according to the analysis results,explore the main reasons,responsible party,influence and its impact on the project.(4)analysis the difference of the two conclusions that use different methods.The structure of this paper includes six parts:the first part introduces the research background of this paper,and then determine the research objectives,methods,content and structure.The second part introduces the theoretical basis of the research of engineering rework.In the third part,through the literature review summarizes the causes and influence of engineering project rework,then applies questionnaire survey to statistic and analysis,and explore the main causes and influences of project rework.In the fourth part,excavate the reasons and effects deeply of rework by case analysis,and comparing with the conclusion of the survey of questionnaire investigation,The fifth part,according to the above research,put forward problems and suggestions of the management of engineering rework.The sixth part,conclusion and prospect,summarizes the main conclusions of this paper,and puts forward the limitations and the problems can be solved in depth of this paper.This paper mainly applies questionnaire survey and case study to research the reasons and effects of project rework,and it draw the following four conclusions:(1)According to the literature review of relevant theory,the index system of reasons and its influence of project rework were established.(2)According to the survey results,the change is the most important reason of project rework.And the owner(44.3%)is the main responsible party result to the rework,one of the biggest reason is the order change of owners(42.6%).The contractor is the other important cause of rework(26.2%),and the main cause is changes of construction(35%).Then,the biggest impact of rework is the cost(49.2%),and the second is time and resources(21.3%).(3)The case study shows that the inappropriate site management of owners(25%)is the main cause of project rework,followed by Poor communication of design unit(18.75%).And the owners is the biggest cause of project rework from the responsible party(50%),followed by the reconnaissance design(37.5%).The greatest impact is the project cost(100%)and project duration(100%).(4)Comparing with questionnaire survey and case study,the questionnaire survey results that the owner and the contractor is the main responsible party of rework occurs,and rework will cause cost overruns and delays,and has a certain effect on the waste of resources as well.The actual project cases reflect the main responsibility causes rework is the owner and designer,and rework only has an impact on the project cost and project schedule.Through the investigation and data collection,we have got some results,but it still has subjectivity and limitations.For example:(1)The number of questionnaire and the area restrictions of survey is not rich enough.(2)The types of construction engineering project involved in the case analysis is relatively single,not covers all types.In the future,I will do more in-depth study aiming at these two aspects.
