After reviewing the current status of the development and implementation of district heating and cooling system,by the development schemes analysis, design calculations and economic analysis of typical BOT projects, this paper further explores the feasibility for energy service companies to use the new sources of energy in order to advance BOT projects in Beijing and other potential markets.Furthermore, focusing on the operational projects which have reached their design capacity, the paper utilizes data collection and comparison method to analyze the main energy consumption data and operating costs,so as to gain a better understanding of the actual operating conditions of the district heating and cooling projects.Based on the above analysis, this paper also attempts to explore the commercial value of district heating and cooling systems, and the prospects of their utilization in the market development,at present and in the future. Finally,a conclusion is drawn and a reasonable proposal is put forward, presenting a suitable construction model for district heating and cooling systems in Beijing and other areas.Consequently, the paper may be equally helpful for the system developing party, the commissioning party and the users, while providing also a valuable reference for the configuration optimization of district heating and cooling systems, and healthy development of the systems’ construction and operation model.
