The Campus Landscape Planning Research Of The South Campus Of Wuhu Institute Of Technology

Due to the wave of college enrollment began in the 1990s,higher education in China has been from the "elite education" gradually entered the "mass education",and higher education’s quality is more and more linked with Chinese closely.Facing the new situation of such rapid development,it has become an important topic that how to shape campus landscape to show the connotation of campus culture and meet the needs of teachers and students.There is commonness between the campus landscape design and urban landscape design,while campus landscape planning and design has its own particularity.On the one hand,as the material carrier of the campus culture,campus landscape should reflect the University’s educational philosophy、characteristics and the spirit;on the other hand,campus landscape should make students and teachers feel comfortable.That is to say the campus landscape should not only have the educational function,and but also provide visual aesthetic.Wuhu Institute of Technology is the first National demonstrative higher occupation college in our country.Its development process is more complex.It founded in 1983,was formerly known as Wuhu United University.During the development,the Wuhu agricultural school and Wuhu information technology of Career Academy joined.In order to meet the increasing needs of teachers and students,south campus of the Wuhu Institute of Technology is expanded.It is necessary that meet the basic needs of students,be harmony with the built landscape and reflect the integrity of the school culture.So this requirement put a big challenge to campus landscape planning and design.This paper summarizes the related research of the campus landscape planning at home and abroad,discusses the principle and the related theory of university campus landscape planning,and draws the conclusion that the university campus landscape planning and design should combine the nature of universities and teaching aim with the campus history and culture.Based on the reality that the South Campus of the basic construction has been completed and come into service,the existing landscape content questionnaire was designed.There are 150 copies of the questionnaire,respondents including a certain percentage of students,teachers and foreign staff.According to the survey results,this paper sums up the advantages and disadvantages of the existing campus landscape,affirms the excellent part of college green landscape,road landscape,cultural landscape,and landscape features,points out some problems,and finally puts forward suggestions.I hope that the excellent part can provide a reference for other colleges and universities in landscape planning,and the shortcoming should be paid attention and improved in the next stage.Hope the landscape environment is better at meeting the needs of teachers and students.
