Rapidly and effectively implementing effect of customized appearance of products in visual customization,satisfying the customer custom product appearance and browsing its real effect in the visual environment,are of great significance to improve the enterprise's market competitiveness.Based on the study of customized design methods,texture mapping methods and realistic texture blending methods,this thesis proposed an in-depth on texture mapping technology in the design of visual customization and its application in the coach industry.A visual appearance customization system of passenger car was also developed,and the system was successfully applied in BFC6120KD passenger car design appearance design.This main contents of this thesis are as follows:The first chapter summarizes the current research of customization technology of product design and texture mapping technology for visualization.Moreover,the major contents and the framework of this thesis were presented in the last section of the chapter.The second chapter modeled multi-level analytical visual customization that was the visual requirements-shape-texture model.It transformed customer requirements to the visual element which was texture by mapping analysis.A texture warehouse of passage car was constructed for customer's visual appearance customization through texture mapping.The third chapter put forward the adaptive selection method to choose the mapping surface,matching the customized textures,of the optional model.And an optimal projection plane was generated adaptively by the minimal loss of the normal vectors.Projection coordinates of vertexes of mapping surface were computed and normalized to calculate texture coordinates,which built the relationship between the chosen surface and the customized texture to draw the visual effect of appearance customization.In the fourth chapter,an interactive texture seam simplification method was proposed to simplify the seam between adjacent customized textures by considering pixel color channel.A color gradient interpolation strategy was adopted to eliminate the multiple customized texture seams on surface of the optional model of productions in order to generate the correct detail on surface and realize adaptive specialization based on programmable shaders.In the fifth chapter,a passenger car visual appearance customization system was developed on the basis of the theory and methods discussed above.The system was successfully applied in the passenger car production design.The sixth chapter drew conclusions of present research along with the possibility of improvement as well as future research.
