Impulse CVT is a promising and potential mechanical CVT.Ordinary impulse generator mechanism is the very linkage mechanism,the defects of inertia force,low output torque and small speed range affect mechanical transmission property.Therefore,this paper designed a new type of impulse CVT,in which the impulse generator mechanism is the groove cam-linkage mechanism.The work mainly finished include as followed:(1)Accordance to the requirements of high mechanical efficiency,low impulse degrees,a novel impulse generator mechanism called groove cam-linkage mechanism was established.Meanwhile,an innovative velocity controller was designed for the novel impulse generator mechanism.The theory of work and characteristic of structure were also explained in detail.(2)The structural design of the groove cam-linkage mechanism was accomplished by using oscillating follower cam mechanism with a combination law of motion.The fundamental performance parameters of this impulse CVT and their influencing factors were systematically analyzed.In order to get the lightest weight,the best quality of transmission and the smallest velocity perturbation in the process of velocity modulation,the multi-target optimization model is established,optimization toolbox of MATLAB was used to optimize dimensional parameter of this new impulse CVT.Therefore the mechanism after optimization can run more stably,with less impact to bearings and higher machine efficiency,the kinematic and dynamic performances were improved greatly.(3)The entity models of parts of the new impulse CVT were built by using SolidWorks,and balancing the shaking force with the impulse generator mechanism had been achieved using a single set of balancing schemes the employ the methods of mass flow and mass substitution,then used assembly function of the software were to achieve virtual assembly and interference analysis.(4)The software ADAMS was used to create its Multi-body dynamics model and analyze the new impulse CVT in kinematic and dynamics respect.The transmission performance and the situation of the input torque under different transmission ratio were obtained through the simulation.Meanwhile,the specific performance of this impulse CVT is determined.The above design and analysis show that the new impulse CVT has lower pulse degrees,wider speed range,higher output torque and higher mechanical efficiency than old ones exist.The potential of groove cam-linkage mechanism fully excavated,and a new way for impulse CVT containing cam pair is provided.
