The quantity of traditional settlements is wide.With the development of the society,dislocation of the history between the subject of modern society and the space of traditional living material,which leads to inadaptability in a certain function between the space of traditional residence and settlement environment.In order to improve the conditions of the settlement,residence have been destroying the old and building the new,that resulted in the vanishment of a large number of the traditional residence.In terms of the operational mode of the conservation and regeneration for the traditional settlements,the current government-oriented operational mode of“bottom up”and“reform and renewal”is lack of effective incentive mechanism,policy guarantee,targeted measures and funds,etc.Most of the superficial image projects which are not sustainable cause the weakly residents participation,the obsolete effect on the conservation and regeneration of the traditional settlements;on the contrary,that simply depending on the residents behavior of the "bottom-up" and "reform and renewal" also can't move on as a lack of social benign circumstances,such as policy supporting and the incentive mechanism.Therefore,from the theory and method,it has research significance to research on the sustainable keys techniques to the functional improvement and regeneration of the traditional residence and settlements environment,and to explore a sustainable path of the conservation and regeneration of the traditional settlements.Taking the traditional residence and settlement of the mountainous traditional settlement in Guifing village(China's famous villages of historic and cultural in tersest)as an example,with the guidance on the theory of "healing",and the purpose of satisfying the needs of residence,it surveys and analysis the traditional residence,and explores a suitable mode of the conservation and regeneration.Through constructing the theory system of the functional regeneration for the traditional residence,it clears the conditions of the theory of"healing" using,methods and principles,as well as related technical route and the paths for implementing the functional regeneration of the traditional residence.This paper makes the study on the follow aspects:first,it proposes the comprehensive functions' composition of the settlement,from the five basic elements of evaluation index of corresponding to the five layers of demand;through investigation and study,it also proposes the "healing" strategy of the traditional settlements environment,and tries to evaluate the satisfaction of the settlement environment.Secondly,based on field survey analysis of the typical mountain settlement in GuiFeng village,it puts forward the research on the methods of the correlativity of key elements and characteristics of the traditional residence space;and adopts type analysis,figure ground analysis,chart analysis and so on,to analyze the formational matrix of the mountainous settlement,the interface structure of the residence,the correlativity of the residence and terrain,the residence and alleys,residence and residence.Thirdly,analyzing of the present status of the traditional residence,it puts forward the current demands of functional regeneration of the traditional residence,and three level demands which include the appearance and the security of structure,function adjustment,performance improvements,fourthly,in order to carry out the residents“self-help”mode,it ventures to develop the "bottom line" control guidelines and the sustainable key techniques of the functional regeneration to the traditional residence.In the research methods,it emphasizes the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis.Through factor analysis,questionnaire survey,the integrated use of mathematical statistics,the typology analysis,chart analysis studying on the correlativity of the traditional residence,it proposes the metrics analysis methods of the residents' satisfaction to the comprehensive function of the traditional settlement.With the way of the schematization expression,provides the suitability techniques strategies to construct the motivation mechanism of the "bottom-up"under the residents' "self-help" mode for the conservation and regeneration of the traditional settlement.
