Impact Of Space Elements Design On Library Tall And Composite Space’s Comfort In Cold Climate Region

In recent years,with the rapid development of cities and people’s cultural life in China,the number of large public cultural buildings has sharp increased.The cities in cold climate region have been built many large public libraries accordingly,and the size of each building is from 20000 to 50000 square meters.For the demand of functional organization and spatial atmosphere,these modern large public libraries,without exception,have a tall space which composite multiple functions,such as reading,open stock,lobby,entertainment etc.With the emergence of these large composite spaces,the energy consumption in the modern library is increasing continuously.I select the large composite space in the library as the main research object,through the field investigation,to find the comfort situation in these composite spaces.And then,to discover how the different spatial design methods affect the physical environment and people’s subjective comfortable feeling in the tall and composite spaces,I try to make some design optimization tips.First of all,I arranged the development of the tall and composite space in the library,listed the spatial characteristics and classification of tall and complex space,summed up the common design techniques of the modern city public library in the cold climate regions of china.Then,I introduced the method of the research on the physical environment comfort of the library’s tall and complex space,evaluated whether the physical environment comfort meets the relevant specifications.Therefore,I can primary screen of some design methods related to physical environment comfort.And then,I discovered the feeling of people in different indoor physical environment and the influence of physical environment on people’s behavior through the questionnaire survey.At the same time,I found people’s preferences for different design practices and screened of the design method which influencing people’s comfort feeling.Finally,I analyzed how those design methods impact the comfort in library tall and composite space and which design methods can enhance the comfort as well as energy conservation.In this paper,the research on the physical environment comfort of the tall and composite space is mainly concentrated in three aspects: thermal environment,light environment and acoustic environment.The relevant design technique is mainly in two aspects: interface design and section design of high composite space.The interface design includes three aspects: window mode and orientation,shading mode,interface color design.The section design includes two aspects: the scale of the section and the spatial form of the section.
