The high order deformed elliptic gear is evolved from the elliptic gear,not only to meet the requirements of variable transmission ratio,but also to meet the requirement of asymmetric transmission ratio,in the textile machinery,agricultural machinery,aerospace and other fields has potential applications.Therefore,it is particularly important to establish theoretical system of high order deformed elliptic gear.To enrich the theoretical system of high order deformed elliptic gear design and manufacture,the meshing characteristics and carrying capacity are studied in this paper.We establish the mathematical model of pitch curve,tooth profile curve,addendum curve and root curve,and optimized design the gear pair structure according to the actual transmission ratio and central moments;obtain the pitch curve and tooth profile coordinate file in MATLAB,import Pro/E,get the 3D model which lays the foundation for the analysis and processing of gear pair later;plot the 2D image of the basic structure parameters of gear,such as order,deformed coefficient,eccentricity,tooth number and so on to transmission ratio,pressure angle,contact ratio and sliding ratio by using MATLAB,to analysis the main and secondary factors affecting the meshing characteristics of high order deformed elliptic gear visually and provide basic assessment of the advantage or disadvantage transmission performance;based on cylindrical gear contact stress and root bending stress calculation method and characteristics of high order deformed elliptic gear to redefine each coefficient and obtain the carrying capacity by adding correction factor.Using finite element software ANSYS Workbench modified the high order deformed elliptic gear finite element model and obtain the contact stress by simulating the meshing state of the gear pair;by applying the normal load to gear top,the bending stress value is obtained and compare this value against theoretical value to ensure the reliability of the stress results.
