With the wide application of power electronic components, increasing the complexity of the power system greatly, the electromagnetic transient process of rapid response and the electromechanical transient process of slow response relatively influence each other in network, the traditional simulation methods are difficult to balance the two transient processes.Electromagnetic transient and electromechanical transient hybrid simulation can fully integrate the advantages of both methods and can be used in the digital simulation of complex systems. The simulation purposes, calculation methods and processes of electromagnetic transient simulation and electromechanical transient simulation are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages and the scope of two methods are defined. The simulation models of normal electrical element are given. Two simulation methods are compared. The public bus in AC/DC system is selected to be the interface between electromagnetic and electromechanical network. In the electromagnetic transient simulation program, the electromechanical sub-network is dealing with Norton equivalent, using frequency-dependent network equivalent and improving the accuracy of electromagnetic side.In the electromechanical transient simulation program, the electromagnetic sub-network is equivalent to injection power source.According to the characteristics of the real-time simulation,a new way of data interaction is adopted.Based on the analysis of industrial control computer,FPGA and PCIe protocol,a heterogeneous real-time hybrid simulation platform based on industrial control computer and FPGA is advanced, using PCIe protocol and reducing the time of data interaction.
