Suspendome is a hybrid space structure,composed of the upper shell structure and lower cable strut system.Lower cable strut system improve the overall stiffness of the structure,and reduce the horizontal thrust at the same time.Meanwhile,it improve the stability of the upper shell structure,and reduce the difficulty of construction.As a result,in recent years,suspendome is widely used in various large-span spatial structure,such as venues.But because of the arrangement of suspendome,the sturcture have higher requirements of regularity,integrity and symmetry.In the practical engineering,because of the building function requirement,the column position of large span steel roof system,especially the stadium,is difficult to be uniformly arranged under the roof structure.Because of using the lower cable strut system improve the structural force,the problem of discontinuous supporting in suspendome system during the design is in urgent need to explore and solve.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward two solutions.Using finite element analysis software,MIDAS/Gen and ABAQUS,this paper discusses two schemes on the feasibility.Through analysing a large number of examples,this paper makes a more comprehensive analysis and discussion about stiffness,member internal force,amount of steel,reaction at support and stability of discontinuously supported suspendome in different schemes,puts forward three stages of structural stability,and further studies applicability of the two schemes.Then,it put forward some reference value of the key parameters during the design of discontinuously supported suspendome and provide a reference basis for similar engineering.Using the research results,in the conventional structural design of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)new stadium project,including steel structure of the roof and eaves,to optimize the comparison of different structural schemes,this paper provides a reference basis for engineering design and practice of discontinuously supported suspendome structure.
