Fault location device can help the staff to find the traction network fault point quickly,it is very important for the maintenance of traction network.The electrical parameters of the traction network with the series compensation device are not uniform,which increases the difficulty of fault location.In this paper,the fault location theory of the tandem line is analyzed,and the problems of fault location devices at home and abroad are pointed out,On this basis,the fault location device of the supply arm with series capacitor compensation device is designed.Firstly,the research status of the fault location of the power supply arm with the series compensation device is analyzed,and the trapping network fault model with the series compensation device is given.The existing fault location algorithm with the tandem line can not carry on the fault locating accurately,a method is proposed to use the wireless module to determine the fault point is located before or after the capacitor,and then use the reactance lookup method for fault location.The electrical characteristics of the series compensation device are verified,A new fault location algorithm is given.The fault location device is introduced from hardware and software.Based on the existing fault location device,the interface circuit between DSP and GPRS module is given.Wireless module using LPC1758 as a control chip,the main circuit is the filter circuit,AD conversion circuit,GPRS module and LPC1758 interface circuit,GPRS module using Siemens mc37i module.The software part mainly includes the access procedure and the wireless module program after accessing the GPRS module.The program of this article is written in C language.In this paper,the power supply arm simulation model with the series compensation device under the direct power supply mode is set up,the fault condition is simulated before or after the compensation device.The fault of the power supply arm with the series compensation device is simulated,when the fault occurred in the capacitor and the protection gap,the distance is not allowed to be analyzed.The simulation results show that the method of fault diagnosis is based on the wireless module to judge the fault point before or after the capacitor,and then the fault location method can be used to complete the fault location task.
