With the development of modern science and technology,the manufacturing industry is constantly using new technology and new methods to solve some difficult problems in the past.Tool wear is one of the key problems that affect the machining precision,machining quality and machining efficiency,tool wear detection has been an important research topic in machining process.On the exploration of the direct detection technology of tool wear,some scholars have put forward new technical methods and conducted research.In order to get the 3D shape of the cutting tool,it is attempted to use the three coordinate measuring machine and the scanning technology.But these two methods are slow to measure,and they are expensive,can not meet the need for actual tool design and performance analysis.So,fast and accurate tool 3D shape measurement system is an urgent problem to be solved in the field of mechanical processing.In this paper,the laser displacement sensor is used to get the tool surface dimension information.The sensor emits a laser illumination on the tool surface,and then the data collected by the CMOS camera inside the sensor.Through the movement of the sliding platform realize the progressive scan on the tool.Finally,the sampling method was used to process the information of the surface topography of the cutter.The tool surface topography information is obtained by using the multi datum model.The tool surface topography information can be directly and accurately detected.This paper uses laser displacement sensor as information acquisition device,Use aluminum to build a framework,and then use PLC to control a mobile platform which was use to carry tool.Then conducted a study application of laser displacement sensor in tool wear detection.A tool wear detection device based on laser displacement sensor is developed.Finally,the tool wear detection device based on laser displacement sensor is developed.In order to further detect the tool wear in the numerical control lathe,the preliminary preparation is done.In this paper,based on the reference and review of the status of tool wear detection at home and abroad,some innovative research is carried out.Mainly reflected in the control design of the structure of the mobile platform as well as the application of laser displacement sensor.This paper include the following work:The selection of laser displacement sensor,the design of the frame of the mobile platform,the control design of the stepper motor and the acquisition and processing of the data of the tool wear,and finally the test of the application.
