As the basis of national economy,power industry is the focus in our country's economic development strategy,which directly affects social stablility and people's living quality.In recent years,with the rapid development of power grid construction,more and more new substation projects have been built.It has gradually become the emphasis for research on how to make full use of resources and ensure quality and quantity to complete the project according to the preset target and planned construction period.Considering the large scale,complex organizational structure,high investment and various influencing factors in substation projects,it's of great importance to realize scheduling optimization.In this paper,the research status quo of scheduling optimization in substation projects has been deeply studied based on lots of literature at home and abroad.Through the study of basic theory of project schedule management,related methods fo schedule planning and schedule control have been introduced.For Xihai 500 kV substation project,WBS decomposition is employed and the relationship and time of activities are determined,thus the network plan and Gantt chart can be otained.Then,combined with the characteristics of Xihai 500 kV substation project,the schedule optimization model is established and an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm with inertia weight nonlinear decreasing strategy and cross factor is put forward to optimize the time period.Finally,the optimization results are compared with the consequences obtained by standard particle swarm optimization method.The results show that the improved particle swarm optmization can shorten schedule by 29 days and cut down the cost by 134.4 thousand yuan with fast convergence speed and small fluctuation.Therefore,the improved particle swarm optmization presents higher validity and applicability in substation project schedule optimization in comparison with standard one,which provides a new way of thinking for substation project schedule optimization problem.
