Research On Optimization Of Spatial Structure Of Mudu Town In Suzhou

Mudu town is an economically developed town well known in Suzhou and even around China.In recent years,it has been maintaining high-speed growth.Since it was included in the main urban area of Suzhou in 2007,its development orientation has been further raised.With the expansion of its exterior space and the continuous acceleration of the integration of its internal structure,the contradictions between the development situation of its spatial structure and its needs of transformation,sustainable development and harmonious development become more and more prominent,and even are expected to restrict its future development.This paper aims to work out a viable development path of spatial structure of Mudu town based on the Chinese and foreign theoretical achievements on researches on urban spatial structure and in combination with the actual situation of Mudu town.In this paper,the spatial structure of Mudu town was researched from the aspects of"time and space".Firstly,cross-sectional study on the evolution process of the spatial structure of Mudu town was made from the angle of time,the evolutionary stage tendency of the spatial structure of Mudu town from "points" to "lines" and then to"clusters" was figured out,and it was concluded that the evolution process had always been push forward by economy,transportation,policy,nature,ecology,history,culture and such factors,and the evolution of these factors would determine the development tend of the spatial structure of Mudu town in future.Secondly,a vertical analysis of the spatial structure of Mudu town was made.The spatial structure of Mudu town was analyzed from the aspects of "space of points","space of lines" and"space of planes",and the respective development characteristics and problems of Mudu town in the three spaces were figured out and summed up.At last,an optimization framework of the spatial structure of Mudu town was put forward from macro,medium and micro aspects based on the analyses as mentioned above,principles of space optimization of Mudu town were proposed,and specific practical optimization strategies for "space of pointsV,"space of lines" and "space of planes" were come up with.
