A Study On Planning Methods Of Central Business District (CBD) In Tianjin Binhai New Area

A Central Business District,short for CBD,is usually typified by a concentration of major business and commercial activities in a country or major cities.As the special space gradually developed in the process of urban spatial expansion and urbanization,CBD has become the core area centralizing comprehensive economic activities in a city or even greater region.The construction of CBD has significantly boosted the development of urban economy and the promotion of the degree of urban recognition,competitiveness and influence.As one of the national development strategic priorities,the construction of CBD in Tianjin Binhai New Area has been gradually carried out in a rational and objective way after initial attempts and further study.Started with clarifying the basic concept and major characteristics of CBD,this essay has conducted a theoretical framework based on amounts of theoretical research on the relatively advanced planning and design concepts of CBD,as well as case study for CBDs domestic and overseas.In accordance with the theoretical research mentioned above,a planning method system has been identified to guide the construction of central business districts.Meanwhile,different research findings from the aspects of urban planning,transportation,municipal engineering,underground space and so forth have also been translated to draw upon for future development of CBDs in not only Binhai New Area,but also other regions in Tianjin as well as other cities in China.Moreover,in order to verify the effects of proposed planning method,several preliminary attempts have been implemented with relevant planning measures on the construction of CBD in Tianjin Binhai New Area respectively.The outcome has proved that the effect of planning method would help the construction of CBDs to achieve a relatively ideal level.The result of the study has shown that while taking the overall regional spatial pattern into full consideration,the planning of CBD should focus on integrally improving the level of public transportation services of the city,exquisitely shaping the public space and creating a convenient and comfortable underground traffic network.The commercial,business and residential environment in the core area of the city should be identified as high-end and delightful,thus to promote rapid urban development.
