In the context of globalization,the degree of development of the central business district is regarded as a measure of international competitiveness of the city,its rise and fall to a certain extent determines the regional social,economic and cultural lifeblood.With the continuous progress of urbanization in China,a large number of central business district has gradually risen,while increasing the economic benefits of the core area,but also to the surrounding areas caused the development of stagnation or even recession.It is this highly resource-intensive development model that makes the surrounding area of the central business district face the pressure of poor population flow,low land use efficiency and poor landscape environment.Therefore,the rational urban open area in the central business district is perfect and Enhance the image of the city,optimize the regional spatial structure is unique.In recent years,many domestic scholars believe that the public transport-oriented development model(Transit Oriented Development,TOD model)has the coordination of urban development,activation of regional vitality of the important role,especially in the density gap between the central business district.TOD model with its motorized and compact development concept can greatly ease the central business district high-density development process of space use and traffic congestion contradictions,effectively guide the regional co-development.This paper will explore the TOD model,combined with the development of the central business district and the surrounding area,to London Canary Wharf South as an example to explore the design of urban renewal,how to optimize the urban space,create a rich human space,and guide the city’s high efficiency Development,and ultimately to the central business district around the development of the region to provide experience and inspiration.First of all,the paper starts from the TOD model,combs and analyzes the related research results,summarizes the significance of its theory to the high efficiency of the central business district and its urban design.Then,the paper summarizes the urban design guidelines that adapt to the development characteristics of the central business district around the central business district and the surrounding area.Secondly,the paper introduces the development situation of the central business district and the surrounding area of the three western cities,and summarizes the urban design experience of the Central Business District and the surrounding area based on the TOD model.In the end,the paper puts forward the urban design strategy from five aspects: functional orientation,traffic organization,open space,architectural design and micro-environment,and summarizes how to improve the surrounding area of central business district the vitality of continuity.
