With the energy crisis and the environment problem are growing,Renewable energy technology is becoming a hot point.The uncertainties brings by renewable energy such as wind and solar power make it difficult to use wind power and solar power without waste,and negative impacts on the main grid bring by renewable energy is also a significant challenge.As a response to this challenge,micro-grid which contains wind power and solar power is put forward.Making the maximize usage of those clean power is a significant control target of energy management of micro-grid.The traditional method of micro grid operation control relies on battery energy storage system(BESS),however,the cost of BESS is still high,and frequent use of BESS may shorten its service life.The main contents in this paper are as follows:1.A model of grid-connected micro-grid which contains solar power,wind power,electric vehicles(EVs)and BESS is built.A control strategy of micro-grid which could insure the optimal use of wind power and solar power.Demand response(DR)are being investigated for providing the service of optimal use of wind power and solar power.2.A model of a TCA unit is proposed in this paper.A new DR algorithm is developed to control thermostatically controlled appliances(TCAs)called weighting coefficient queuing(WCQ)algorithm.3.A EV charging model is proposed in this paper.A control strategy using variable participation factor is introduced to control EVs as a valid DR resource.4.A micro-grid with 1000 air conditioners(ACs)and 1000 EVs is used as a test system and the simulation results verifies the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
