The continuous expansion of urban city and the gathered effects of function area make the urban and surrounding regions' traffic attraction become more closely.Tidal lane is an effective way to balance the two-way traffic and ease the pressure.By GIS spatial analysis technology, this article use overlay and buffer analysis to narrow the scope of type selection then select the best solution.Firstly, this article analyzed the cause of the tidal traffic, pointed out the main function of the tidal lane technology, and summarized the application in home and abroad. It combined with the domestic road conditions and put forward the setting conditions of the technology.Based on GIS,it summarized the factors of type selection and raised the analysis indicators from the perspective of scale and structure, function and layout.Secondly, under the road geometry, the article based on analyzing the factor to established a basic information database and analysis the applicability.Use the traffic capacity, occupancy to evaluate the lane function.Use traffic location theory and fractal theory to analyze tidal lane's layout and matching degree.Thirdly, the article use software TransCAD to calculate the model and realize visual representation, and set the factors affecting evaluation model. It combines AHP and GRA to construct the evaluation model. At last, the article take Rongbei Commercial Road for example to test and analyzes the evaluation system and model, and use the VISSIM to simulate the road and analyzes the application effect. The research mentioned before can be referred by the metropolises when applying tidal lane.
